Life at Point Zero

Hello, Connect! Let’s get acquainted! My name is Tatyana and I’m from Ukraine, now I live in Germany. My acquaintance story is called “Life at Point Zero”. Sometimes I close my eyes and see the streets of my native city Dnieper … “Here I go to work, buy coffee in my favorite coffee house, sitting at a big monitor in a successful company, managing advertising campaigns, in the evening I pick up my daughter after school and we go to her family to the training on rollers … Here I was walking my dog and I thought about how my bed of roses had overgrown…Here I was from my church community giving out food to the homeless…and suddenly something happened and there I was, with one small suitcase and my hearing-impaired daughter, standing at the train station in Krakow…and the free food was already being given to us…”. I open my eyes and look out the window at the Bavarian forest and my heart fills with gratitude. Here is my daughter walking from the school bus stop and talking to a friend about something, here is my husband calling and we will talk for hours on end, and again my heart fills with gratitude…But how do I express it, how do I tell people in language I do not know how grateful I am for their help, support and for letting me and thousands like me into my life? And I started writing reviews, just for fun, because I am an Internet marketer in a former life, I know how algorithms work in Google and how they help to promote business. But I wasn’t expecting anything in particular from my publications, it’s just my way of saying “Thank you!” Germany and its people:) It’s my way of feeling needed and alive…It’s my way of getting off the ground…And here I am:) I will try to write truthful and positive reviews to help small businesses get customers and tourists and locals find the places they’ve been looking for a long time :slightly_smiling_face: And here I am:) I will try to write truthful and positive reviews to help small businesses attract customers, and tourists and locals find the places they’ve been looking for:)

@Tatiku This is a lovely post. I am happy that you found a home away from home in Germany and I pray the war is over soon so that you can reconnect with your native city.

Finding time to give back to your current city is such a good way to show gratitude and doing it on Google Maps is a special thought. Thank you for channelling such energy towards helping businesses and map users.

I am tagging @JaneBurunina to see this lovely post.

There are no winners in wars, just lots of losers. In the meantime, don’t loose those thoughts ofDnieper, your favorite coffee house, that BIG monitor full of advertising campaigns, picking up your daughter after school, walking your dog and your bed of roses and I do hope that this madness ends soon and that you, your family, your people and your country can return to the safety and stability that you once enjoyed @Tatiku . For now, your cover photo of yourself and daughter shows that you are in a safe and lovely haven. Indeed, “Thank you!” Germany. Wishing you well, take care.

Thank you @AdamGT for sharing your thoughts. There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t think about home, where a loved one, friends, part of our heart and soul is left…but it’s a sad topic that we overcome every day…and a topic for another forum, probably. And here I want to say thanks again to Germany and all the people who help us!
