In the series Tips & Tricks of the Local Guides Clean The Map campaign (#LGCTM) here’s a short, but important tip.
Some of the questions asked / feedback given by other local guides refers to situations where it is not always clear what to do - partly due to the fact that the guidelines/instructions provided by Google are sometimes vague or downright missing. But, obviously, in general local guides are meant to improve the data quality of Maps, not make it worse.
So: what should you do when it is not clear what you should do? My guiding principle in those cases is quite easy: when in doubt, do nothing. Just move on to the next one - there’s plenty more still to be cleaned.
Hah! Great answer @JanVanHaver ! And actually, skipping the problem because one is unsure is definitely the better approach rather than just ‘guessing’ our way through it. There’s more chances of getting it wrong than right.
This is a good general rule, thanks for sharing it with us. Since someone might not be familiar with the Local Guides Clean The Map campaign, I am quoting part of your original post so they can see all the useful suggestions you listed:
