A hearty congratulations to you for your achievement of level 8 as a local guides. Wish you more achievements on the maps. Would you like to know how to achieve more or do better on the maps?

Tip

  • Include more details of the POI you visited in your reveiws. Map users will need information to make informed decisions. Good reveiws will be of help in that area
  • When uploading photos to the maps, duplicate or near duplicate photos are not a great help to map users

Hi … I m new to this…so… please help me with one thing…! How can I start earning gifts from Google through this…I saw few people got socks…and something else… And I want that too… please guid me

Hi Rounak K,

Welcome to the Local guide Community.

First, earning gifts is not the main aim to contribute in Google Maps, one has to do this with a passion.

Secondly, there are no specific criteria or rules for earning the merchandise and also the personalized gifts, it is random in nature, even though I have not received any such gifts from Google.

Wherever you are now or you visit, you can rate the nearby places, add feedback or upload Photos or Videos.

I will encourage you to work hard for the community as this is the main objective.

What @therajatsaha told you in his reply is quite correct. The local guides program is a voluntary program.It’s not all about earning gift though its part of it. The gifts are very random and unpredictable so my advise is don’t count on it. Anyways to know about potential benefits, please read: Question about a Local Guides reward email? Read this first
