Hello everyone, the Google One support sent me there: i asked them why when reaching level 5 I didn’t get the 100 gb for 1 year for google drive. Could anyone point me out what should I do?

You are referring to a very old, information. 100 GB free storage (for one year only) ended one and a half year ago (unfortunately in Internet you will find a lot of outdated information, so please refer to official channel - this community - for updated information)
With the end of the free storage promotions, one of the most common question in Connect is: How can I use my space in Google drive?
Of course, with a quick search you will find all the answer, but for an easy reference I will try to summarize in here the most common questions.
The biggest mistake that I did, when I got the free storage, was to save a copy of all my photos in Google Drive. Loading photos in Drive is using your storage space
With a correct setting, you will be able to store:
- Photos, in Google Photos, at High Quality (16MP), for free (unlimited storage)
- Videos, in Google Photos, at High Definitions (1080P), for free (unlimited storage)
This is the storage I’m actually using:
Most of the space is used for documents that I have in Drive. As you can see from the details, I am not using space for photos
And I have more than 7450 files (photos and videos) stored
So, don’t worry about space for photos in Google Maps. Make the correct setting, and you will have no problem in storage due to Google Maps or Youtube videos

thank you for your kind response and for the additional informations (that I hope will be useful to someone given that I already knew those capabilities of google photos). The main problem here is that I reached such a level DURING the promotion and I didn’t get any additional space.
@tsadoq , “Drive Storage was a promotion we offered Local Guides from 2015 through March 2017. It was last offered to Local Guides who reached Level 4 by March 17, 2017 and redeemed it within 30 days”, as indicated in the official announce: Drive storage promotion has ended.
Storage was not automatically added, you had to redeem it, in due time.
A communication about the promotion was sent to the LGs via email (I received it too, when I reached L4), and communicated in the community. For receiving information about news and promotions you have to enable it through Google Maps App / Setting / Notifications
