I wanted to reach out to the community to share a little frustration I’ve been experiencing as a Level 6 Local Guide on Google Maps. So, here’s the thing: I haven’t received any goodies or rewards from Google, while my friend, who is at a lower level, has already gotten them.
Now, don’t get me wrong—I love being a Local Guide and contributing to the awesomeness of Google Maps. I’ve been adding accurate info, uploading photos, and leaving helpful reviews to make sure our fellow users have the best experience possible. But it’s a bit disheartening when my efforts go unnoticed in terms of rewards.
Has anyone else faced a similar situation? Is there something I’m missing or a secret handshake I need to know? I genuinely want to understand why I haven’t received any goodies despite being at Level 6.
If any of you have any insights or suggestions, I’d be super grateful to hear them. Let’s support each other and make sure everyone gets the recognition they deserve for their hard work!

If you expect rewards for your efforts then Local Guides isn’t the best place for you. We are all volunteers. We do what we do to help Maps Users and the community. If you get a reward then it’s a bonus, not a right.
There is no pattern, and there’s no fairness in who gets rewards. It is just a marketing gimmick.
My motivation is the joy of knowing that I’m helping a lot of people and businesses. Also, making new friends here on Connect can be considered a great perk. I find it very rewarding being a Local Guide.
Hang in there, keep up the good work and maybe one day it’ll be your turn.

Las recompensas no se dan por ningún nivel superior ni nada por el estilo,no son reconocimientos de ningun nivel superior ni nada , son detalles que se dan de forma aleatoria, puede que lo reciba algún día, pero no hay nada seguro, la mejor manera de conseguir satisfacción personal es el saber que con nuestras contribuciones ayudamos a muchísimos miles incluso millones de personas , que mayor regalo que puede recibir nadie que esté de ayudar???
Por cierto yo soy local guide nivel 10 y no he recibido ninguna recompensa pero no me importa ya le he comentado como anteriormente lo que me importa es ayudar a otras personas.
