LetsGuide Podcast on Map Markers

Checking/correcting Map Markers (or pins) is perhaps not the most appealing aspect of being a local guide, but it is crucial for the proper use of Google Maps for navigation, as the pin location determines where you are sent when you type in an address.

So I figured it was definitely a worthy topic for a dedicated episode of the LetsGuide Podcast. That episode was published earlier this week. You can listen to it here or in your favorite podcasting app.

Interestingly I think there is more than one pin now @JanVanHaver - I keep seeing indications of it.

I’m not sure what you are referring to @PaulPavlinovich . Can you get into some more detail?

When you navigate to a place it takes you to the street entrance @JanVanHaver but this is not where the marker pin usually is which suggests there is at least two pins. Lately when using driving directions I’ve noticed I end up at a car park entrance if the building has one which suggests there is a third pin.

Thanks for the clarification @PaulPavlinovich . I was not aware of that. As I have a built-in navigation in my car, I actually never use Maps for navigation by car. That might change early next year as I might then have a car with Google Maps built in. Looking forward to that
