That can be super annoying, I know, but I discovered that it also can be a very good thing. It actually became quite clear to me, when I started writing reviews on google maps. In the beginning I mainly reviewed local restaurants I visited or maybe some stores a few times.
A few years ago my sister and I started the tradition to do at least one elaborate city trip a year. We have been to London first. Last year we went to Vienna and this year we explored Rome. We used google maps a lot when planning our trip, but also when we were there and needed prompt information or were looking for a good place to eat. I was so grateful, for all the information we got so easily so I started writing my own reviews on the places we went to in those cities.
At our first trip in London I just did a couple of reviews and kinda got started. But when we stayed in Vienna, I actually made a list with all the places we went to and wrote a review later when I had more time. I had a lot of fun, writing the reviews later on, because it just reminded me of the awesome time we had in Vienna and it was great to browse to the pictures again, but also because I knew my reviews might help other people plan their Vienna trip as well.
So ultimately all you Local Guides out there are helping me plan my trips and I feel honored to help all of you plan your trips. It’s like a great big travel family! And I’m proud to be a part of it and want to say:
