Let's Go Bananas - Variants from around the world

Where I live, Bananas are not hard to come by and till date, I have seen about 5 variants;

1. Red Bananas which my people (Yorubas of South Western Nigeria) call; Ogede Omini
2. The small and Green Bananas which they call; Ogede Paranta
3. Pale Green
4. The long Green ones that has a pleasant scent; I call it the “Igbo people’s banana”
5. The Wild Banana I just saw today

I thought I had exhausted the list, until my friend who lived in Ajaokuta told me he was having “wild bananas”.

I was surprised, so I asked him to send me a Photo, he sent me four photos, you can find all four here; Photo Album

I love bananas!

1. When I don’t feel like eating, they fill me up
2. When I have a heart burn, it relieves me
3. When I want to make a smoothie, it sweetens and thickens it

I love Bananas. How many varieties of the Bananas have you seen? Can you please add a photo in this album, I want to see all the Banana variants from around the world.

Yes, Bananas are grown in India. And India is one of the top most country as far as banana growing is concerned. Bananas are grown 8n almost all parts of India.

Oh, I see Khalid. lol. I love tasty bananas too. This days, I select the banana variant according to what I want to use them for. The tasty bananas with the aroma are the best for the smoothies especially if I am consuming them almost immediately @_141
