Dear Local Guides I’m Mukul Rahman from Bangladesh. I am going to arrange a photo walk at Bangla Academy Premises, Dhaka on 14th February, 2020. Theme of the photo walk will be “Let’s be enlighten at the book fair”. During this photo walk we will visit this renowned The Ekushey Book Fair which is the biggest in the country. We will take photos and videos to show its hugeness to the rest of the world. We will also edit some places, review them along with photos and will add some missing places to maps. We want to present this historical Ekushey Book Fair to the world in way which will represent our glorious history, people from other countries will come to know about this. This fair started its journey on 21st February of 1972. It was really tough to arrange this kind of fair in a war devastated country like Bangladesh. This month long book fair is held every year in February to show our respect and love for those who sacrificed their lives for our mother tongue. Moreover, with the passing of time it has become a national cultural festival which reflects our spirit of culture and tradition as a nation. Thousands of people come here with their friends and family to buy books in a festive mood. All Friday during the book fair has children hours when only children can enter with the parents. This is a very unique characteristic of this fair. I hope you will join us to make it a successful event. Thanks.
