LET THE WORLD FIND EVERYTHING

When traveling to a new place, finding a good hotel or good restaurant is the necessary thing to all people. But how can we get to know the nearest place and if we can, how can we know whether they have good service or we will get an extortion, overcharge? Luckily, Google Maps is here now, the most reliable and only thing that I can base on. It’s also the only means that we can use to judge a business or a service in which the owner can do nothing about our judgement. The first thing I love about sharing of a new business location because this lets people who use Google Maps like me easily find it.

I recollect, once in 2013, I was riding my motorcycle on a public road and suddenly my back tire was punctured and completely collapsed. The air was entirely gone and I had to walk it. This part was not familiar to me so I had no idea which direction I should better be headed for a repair shop. Fortunately I remembered of searching location on Google Maps. I immediately pulled out my phone, typing on the search bar “ Sua xe” which means “motorbike repair” in Vietnamese. Amazingly there appeared to be a few business locations of repair shop. I headed to the nearest one, feeling grateful to the advanced development of internet and software apps and especially thanks to Google, at least I knew I wasn’t wasting my time awaiting to see a repair shop at roadside but I was sure where it was. Finally I reached the repair shop and my problem was solved.

The repair man was fixing my tire.

That’s why I love sharing any business pin that I happen to find, and as long as the business is commonly helpful to the public, my thirst of sharing is even stronger.

Another of my story is about the review on a business location. In the mid of 2017, there were two Chinese engineers who came to my Factory in Binh Duong province for assembling textile machines in our factory. We bought machines from their company and they were appointed of this assembly mission. After two weeks their job was finished and my boss asked me to take them for a trip to Can Gio district to visit Monkey Island as a remuneration. It is a district downstate of Ho Chi Minh city at the distance of two hours’ driving.

I ( with hat) and the two Chinese engineers.

The Monkey Island

We five people including the driver and a caretaker were going to stop by a seafood restaurant for lunch. Then I asked them to hold a moment before I checked the business review. I saw one of the reviews saying: “The owner is extremely greedy, he charged me 1 million VND for just a small octopus. This is an extortion. I would never come back here again.” My God! Let’s move on. This is not the good one. At the next stop I tried to search for a seafood restaurant. There were many around us. After checking out the business reviews I picked one which was ranked at 4 stars. This was a nice one and we were all pleased about its service. Then I left a 4 star review which means: “Food is cheap. We five people were full and well served but it cost only million plus. The wood chairs have sharp edge and it hurts my back a bit. It’s suitable for lying down. This place is not accessible to cars. We had to walk a distance from the parking place.”

So sharing a location and reviewing its business helps people a lot and I love these activities. I hope people in the world have the contributive mind like I do. If they do, the world will be positively improved and all business owners will try their best to be more competitive over service, price and manner. Thank you very much Google for putting an intangible cloth on the earth where people can judge all services globally.
