@OlgaKlimchik thank you!!! I’m sure you’ll like Carpathian Mountains!!!
Hi @NatalkaR ,
Thanks for sharing your photos. It looks stunning! I love this challenge as it makes us discover our own countries in a new way and go to places we maybe wouldn’t go. The Carpathian mountains seem really exciting and high as well.
How long did you hike all the way up? Is there a hut you can spend the night at or did you go down afterwards?
@DanniS thanks a lot!!! I climbed the mountain around 6-7 hours in one way. It’s 21 km roundtrip. You can do it faster - for 5 hours. But we hiked with my friend’s mom, she’s sportive but we did many stops. And, of course, I stopped many times for pictures. You can spend the night in your own tent but you should be ready for it. It’s very cold and windy on the top - even in summer. If you don’t have a tent and water and food you should go down.
@NatalkaR You’re welcome! Of course taking photos is very important part of the journey I’ve never been on a tent in the mountains, but it seems exciting. Yes, definitely needs some preparation.
I’ll have to try it next summer as I already missed this one. Any plans to go hiking again?
@DanniS I want to hike on the highest Ukrainian Mount - Hoverla. I’ll plan to climb on the end of September. Now I’m traveling around Europe with my husband and children - it’s our annual family roadtrip.
@NatalkaR That sounds cool! How high is the peak? My highest so far is 2930 m in Bulgaria. It was really tough and worth it of course. Good luck!
@DanniS 2930 m is cooooolllll!!! How long did you hike? Hoverla is 2061 m.
@NatalkaR There is a lift that takes you to 2000 m and from there on it only steep, with the lift it took me 3 h to get to the peak and about 2 h to get back down to the lift. Of course, you can start from all the way down, but it takes a lot more hours and I wanted to do it in a day. It’s still exciting and challenging.
