“Let’s go on the weekend to …” Lublin (Poland)

Hello everyone,

I would like to take you on a short trip to Polish city – Lublin est. 1317 A.D. I was there on the weekend 14-16 August 2020 with my girlfriend Ola. We rent an apartment [REDACTED]. The best advantage of this apartment was that, it was just 5 minutes from the Old Town of Lublin.

Before we begin our short trip, I would like to say that every place/tourist attraction we visited is marked in Google Maps List - list.

To systematize our trip I have divided the map into three sections:

  1. “Ogród Saski” Park
  2. “Plac Litewski” square
  3. “Old Town” of Lublin

1. Ogród Saski” Park

“Ogród Saski” Park is a beautiful place to visit. It is a perfect place for walking, jogging and watching art exhibitions. There are many tourist attractions including: sundial, executioner’s house and many more. The Park is very well-kept with lots of different plants and trees, that give an unique atmosphere of peace and quiet.

In my opinion the biggest attraction is a “Centrum Spotkania Kultur” (Center of Culture Meetings). It is a modern building in which are located photos exhibitions, artistic works. On the 4th and 5th floor there are viewing terraces with a great view to Lublin and “Ogród Saski” Park.

I recommend to visit this place. There are no entry tickets and the exhibitions are interesting.

  1. “Plac Litewski” square

“Plac Litewski” square is named after the very important historical event for Poland called “Unia Lubelska” (Union of Lublin 1569 A.D.). The main tourist attraction on the square are: fountains, “symbolic three – black poplar”, Monument to the Union of Lublin and big inscription “I love Lublin”. At the evening on the fountains is laser show displayed. It shows and talks about the known legend in Lublin called “The legend of the devil’s paw imprint”. It is a great attraction for children and adults too.

3. “Old Town” of Lublin

The last section of our short trip is “Old Town”. As you enter the “Krakowska Gate” you can see the old architecture and renovated tenement houses. You can go through the Old Town and exit the second gate and go to “Lublin Castle”.

On every side of the street you can see restaurants, pubs, souvenirs and much more.

Here I recommend to you see my list on Google Maps and take virtual walk, that you can see yourself all the attraction in the “Old Town” of Lublin – you will not be disappointment.

I post here some photos of Old Town, that I hope will encourage you to take a walk.

To sum up I think that was a great trip. The wording “for weekend” captures that you can visit Lublin just in two days. We were very happy to see every attraction and to walk on the Old Town.

I hope that you enjoyed this post, like I enjoyed our trip and I did not bored you. Lublin is a beautiful city with rich history. If you do not have plans to go “for weekend” I highly recommend Lublin.

See you on the next post of “Let’s go on the weekend to …”.
