Let’s celebrate Menstrual Hygiene Day 2021

Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day. MHD is an annual awareness day on May 28 to highlight the importance of good menstrual hygiene management at a global level.

The taboo around menstrual health is still prevalent in society. These taboos emerge from an absence of proper awareness and management of menstrual hygiene, causing more complications to an already sensitive occurrence. The society and communities are not open to discussing and practicing menstrual hygiene management, which is the root of the problem.

Together, we can end period stigma and empower girls and women. We are trying to remove this prohibition by adding information on Google Maps- from where girls can buy Sanitary Napkins, campaigning using tools like education, community reach outs.

This year we ( @SumaiyaZafrin @RadiaRayanC and me) have provided 10000+ Sanitary Napkins to the Underprivileged girls in Bangladesh through our project named TRIKONOMITI-Sanitary Napkins at Doorsteps. We are still providing Sanitary Napkins free of cost. Our initiative got featured in UNDP Bangladesh & Local Guides Guiding Star.

The Local Guides community is a very big global community. Local Guides can make a big difference for making awareness, adding Sanitary Napkins available places. I would like to request our Local Guides around the world, please support our girls and women for a safe period.

Let’s break the taboo together and empower girls and women.

Dear @PavelSarwar dada, sorry for commenting late.

First of all thank you for this awareness post. This should be very basic things, but still due to unawareness, the men are ashamed to buy menstrual pad from a medicine shop, which certainly no one should.

Hope we all together will be able to change the world.

Stay safe and happy.
