Legato Gelato

Found out this tasty, recommended, and less sweet gelato at Gading Serpong area. It is called Legato Gelato. The place also provides for dining in. The gelato can be served in cup or cone. When we came here, the flavors available were Dark Choco, Pistachio, Almond Regal, Lemon, Orange Choco Cake, Oreo Cookies & Cream, Peanut Butter, Bubble Gum, Salted Caramel, Vanilla, Thai Tea, Strawberry Cheesecake, Ferrero, Avocado, and Yoghurt. Before deciding what flavor, we could request for free tasting.

I tried 2 Scoop served on a cup (IDR 30,000). The flavors that I chose were Pistachio and Thai Tea. Gelato has thick and sof texture. Tastes good and less sweet. However, I found out that their gelato was pretty fast to melt. I snapped picture for about 2 minutes, then it was melting a little.

Hi @Velvel ,

Your photos are making me want to have ice cream now! I love ice cream so much, that I don’t get even if it’s cold winter time. This photo looks so delicious! What exactly is Thai tea flavor? Is it similar to green tea one?

I prefer to have chocolate ones, but I do love me some cheesecake and peanut butter ice cream. I think it’s become my new favorite taste. Which one did you like most?

Thanks for sharing @Velvel gelato always melts quicker than heavy custard based ice cream because it is only just frozen. It is always on the verge of melting and generally speaking there is less fat to bind it. Eat quickly but avoid the dreaded brain freeze. I love a good gelato too.

My favourites come from Jocks Ice Cream and PidapipĂł Windsor they both achieve 5 stars from me for their product and their friendly service. Last time I was at Pidapipo the server actually did a little dance for me while she made up my cone.

From Jocks I love the licorice ice-cream and from Pidapipo the ricotta and fig gelato is stunningly good.

Regards Paul

Hi @DanniS

Thai tea isn’t similar with green tea. Thai tea is the combination of Thailand tea herbs and milk. It has typical aroma, so that it’s easy to recognize Thai tea from the smell. I think green tea has “stronger” tea aroma rather than Thai tea.

Since this was my first time, I would suggest Pistachio and Thai Tea.

Hi @PaulPavlinovich

Thank you for the information. Since gelato has less fat, I love it!

So, which gelato flavor that you like the most?

@Velvel Great! I’m very curious how these teas taste, so I’d definitely try the Thai and jasmine tea. Which flavors were your favorite?

@DanniS my favorite flavors are pistachio, thai tea, and avocado. I’ll definitely will go back to this place to try another flavor :grinning:

Ricotta and Fig is awesome @Velvel and definitely my favourite, thanks for asking.

Hey @Velvel ,

Just wanted to let you know that I removed the language label from your post as it isn’t written in Indonesian and this may confuse people who are searching for posts in this particular language.

Hey @Velvel , did you actually free taste each of all those available flavors before settling on Pistachio and Thai Tea? I have to say, like @PaulPavlinovich , Jock’s in Albert Park, is a favorite of mine!

No, I didn’t get the free tasting of all the flavors on the display @AdamGT

If I did that, probably I won’t order the gelato cup as I was full already hahaha…

Nice to hear that you and @PaulPavlinovich share the same favorite ice cream shop. The ice cream, especially the cakes there look so much good! I’ve saved it to my “want to go” place whenever I visit you guys in Melbourne

Jock… Is it the name of the owner?

Yes Jock started the ice cream shop in about 2000. I can only assume that he is still the owner @Velvel but regardless, this shop makes and sells the best ice cream, verified independently by two independent Local Guides
