Learning spots

Hi everyone!

My name is Thais and I am from Brazil!

I am a science teacher and passionate about education! I believe we all learn all the time and everywhere. Places teach us a lot … who knows what would happen if we looked at places with an intention to learn, what would be our relationship with the streets, squares, old buildings, museums … with the city where we live?

Because of this I began to map the places in Curitiba (my city) - and also in the cities in the neighborhood - where it is possible to learn Science. I started with non-formal spaces, but I want to expand i my collaboration and include informal spaces and also insert places where it is possible to learn anything: history, philosophy, geography, physics … any place with which we can learn something.

So that’s why I called this post of learning spots. Every city, village, every neighborhood or state has many learning spots that should be shared so that more people can learn from them. There are squares named after people who were very brave or famous artists, streets with names of people also special and others not so much, as extremely cruel historical personalities. There are organizations of people with small art exhibitions, collectives that offer workshops on various subjects. There are museums, zoos, galleries … there are houses of writers and scientists. There is a street art of an important graffiti artist from the region. There is a restaurant serving a dish is part of the region’s cultural heritage.

I hope to contribute as much as I can by sharing all the places I went through and learned something. And if you also went through different places and learned something special, share it too !!

Regards!

Thais
