Learning from CoronaVirus( COVID 19) Pandemic

World over this pandemic in last four months has brought economic activity to standstill and powerful governments to its knees. Lot of health experts say till we find cure on this virus we will suffer and lose many lives. Governments all over the world are doing their best to pump money so it will not affect the economy in long term but is difficult to restore normalcy and build public confidence after this incident.

And till the time there is no confidence in the public’s mind about future, it’s difficult to expect normalcy in terms of how they behave, how much they spend.

Some learning from this pandemic world over.

Interdependence

We are more than ever interdependent and can’t fight such battles independently, no matter how powerful we think we are. Developed and 3rd world countries are suffering with same severity. So here is the message now developed countries can’t say it’s not there a problem or think like they are isolated and it will not affect them.

Exposes the will Power of Governments

This incident shows why there are no results to common cause and problems like global warming, carbon emission, and many similar global issues because governments do it as lip service and are not serious about it. If they fight with same vigour like this pandemic together, then definitely we will have some concrete output from the global summits. Otherwise it’s just vacation time for attendees and waste of taxpayers money.

Citizens are willing to contribute

To fight the COVID-19 citizen has gone beyond their means to help others and fight. So it say when there are issues related to public and Governments are genuinely willing to fight, then public will support, even if they have to suffer and pay for fighting the cause.

Importance of Free Press/Information

If Chinese government had not suppressed the news of this deadly virus when it was first diagnosed, we wouldn’t have suffered so much. So there are still people or governments making the most of this crisis to benefit them. Free flow of information is basic and essential to check on the governments all over the world. Like some governments/politicians used this as an opportunity to grab unlimited power or legislation to stay in power as long as they wish.

Unsung heros

Incidents like this show us that real heros are among us or each one of us can be a hero. Heros are not what we see on fancy magazine cover or movie stars we emulate. We have seen many stories world over how people are helping each other to save and help other people. Common man is the hero.
