I visited Paris quite many times. Always stayed short. However, this time, quite long stay. I know all touristic places and visited there every time I came, so this time I wanted to try some new places.
I stay near the Gare du Nord. Actually the area looks a bit different from the place I stayed before, but as long as you are cautious, it is fine. The Cannal area, Bassin de la Villette is 20 min walk away from my place so it was good promenade. Since it was sunset time, I was looking for a restaurant nearby, after the nice walk, it was great to have dinner. It is not Montmartre, not Eiffel tower, not Notre-Dame Cathedral, not Chmaps-Elysee, but if you want something local and exotic, I recommend here to visit.
The restaurant I visited nearby was Asian Gourmet. I visited 3 Vietnamese restaurants in Paris, this time. 2 at Opera area. They are super crowded and popular among local French, well… those are not bad. However, I find Asian Gourmet here is better, in terms of quantity(! very important for me when I travel), taste, and even price. Yeah, mind you, Opera is fancy and popular central area.
