Las Vegas Hikes. 3 Places To Enjoy The Desert.

If you’ve seen enough of the Strip and Downtown Las Vegas you can be hiking the trails of Southern Nevada in as little as a 30 minute drive away. So plan on Here’s a list of 3 spots to spend the day and return to your Vegas nightlife. Just remember to bring plenty of water!

Red Rock Canyon

To the west of the city you can hike, drive or bike in this beautiful canyon. It’s the closest to the strip and from many areas in the park you’ll have views of the city skyline. This is an excellent choice for sunrise or sunset spots. The park is open sunrise to sunset.

Mount Charleston

Head northwest to hike these trails. It will get you just high enough to give you a break from the extreme heat in the city and you can ski there in the winter. There is a year-round resort there that offers hogback riding and is a quiet break from the bright city lights.

Valley of Fire State Park

North of the city about 20 minutes you’ll find a hidden treasure. You can easily spend an entire day here and there is overnight camp available as well. It’s open sunrise to sunset .
