History:
Las Flores was built by Gregorio Linares Sierra, who owned the fields it is located today. The first lands were acquired among others by railroad employees, mostly Englishmen.
According to the 2011 census, Las Flores had a population of 241 inhabitants.
Basically, this is the perfect place for hollidays. It is the place where you can do everything walking (there are 3 supermarkets, pharmacy, meat shop, 3 restaurants, children stations, etc.
30 mins by car from Punta del Este, this is like a public closed neighborhood. Everybody knows eachoter, and generations of family have lived here and had their summer houses.
A part of its quiet beach on the River Plate, near Las Flores, on Route 71 is Pittamiglio Castle. This castle was built in 1956 and was the summer residence of Humberto Pittamiglio. The building looks like a medieval castle, with turrets and passageways. The castle integrates a mystical circuit, whose route extends from the Sierras de las ánimas to the city of Piriápolis. This circuit is a tour of numerous pilgrims every year.6
You will not regret coming here. Enjoying amazing sunsets, getting to know the locals, their food, their calmed way of life. The beach is super calmed, perfect for fishing and for kids. No waves, and a lot of rocks where the fisherman catch their business.
