Lapland - Hidden Pearl of the North.

In June 2017 I attended an interesting trip to the polar circle with my friends.

Our base camp was the town Rovaniemi in the north of Finland, from where we took various adventurous activities around.

First night we celebrated the summer solstice with a cycling tour on the hill above Rovaniemi, where we had a champagne drink at midnight. Too bad we didn’t see the midnight sun, because it was a cloudy sky.

The next morning we went fishing to the lake where we camped. Then we rode a four-wheeler rally.

In the afternoon we sailed to the reindeer farm where we met a local wizard and passed a traditional Lapland ritual.

We finished the evening in a stylish restaurant, where we enjoyed local specialties.

On the last day we went fishing to the beautiful river, after which we sailed on boats.

It was an unforgettable trip in the country of thousands of lakes, forests and rivers.

All the shots were taken by a camera Fujifilm X100T and smartphone LG G5.

Hi @KarolT ,

I’m extremely happy to see this post as I’m from Finland! Thank you so much!

Lapland is definitely a unique place that anyone who has a chance should see it. How was this experience for you? How many days did you spend there? I remember doing the husky and reindeer sleds, which was quite exciting. Did you try the sauna experience?

This brought me so many wonderful memories as I’m currently not living in Finland, so thanks a lot! Looking forward to see/hear more.

Hi @DanniS

That was my first visit of Finland.

Maybe I’ll try to visit Finland in winter.

I’m not afraid to add photos, because I don’t even have 1000 photos together on google maps.

Hi @PhanorjitFon

Thank for kind comment.

The fish name is trout. It’s hard to catch him.

The camp was built before we came…

Rivers water was cold. I got wet, because I went overboard.
