Lanzarote the amazing gem of the Canarian Islands

@Giuseppe75 , @LuigiZ

I visited Lanzarote for my Christmas Holidays last year ( December 2019)-. It was not my first time in the Canary Islands, I’ve been to Tenerife too, so more or less I was prepared and had my idea on the location and how the holiday should have been.

Well, needless to say that I was completely wrong! Lanzarote is one of my favourite places I’ve been and I would return to spend even more time there.

I will start my post from where we landed: Arrecife tha Capital of Lanzarote . we took of form Milan and the flight took us 4 hours and a half!

We rent a car from the airport, Payless company very good service and organization, Payless car company Lanzarote Airport and went to Playa Blanca in the South part of the island where we have booked our apartment Love 4 Lanzarote

Every day we visited a lot of places and we lost completely the perception of time.

One of the location to visit is the Cactus Garden ! You will be surprised! Cesar Manrique did a great job !A garden full of hundreds of cactus! Click Cactus Garden

Don’t miss also to visit close to the Garden Jameos de Agua incredibile location with restaurant in the cave

and Cueva de los Verdes wihich is a volcano channel. You visit it with a guide and it takes about 45 minutes . It is very interesting!

another place not to miss is the Natural Park of Timanfaya. It is a protected volcanic area to visit only with the local guide in bus. it is forbidden to do the intinerary by foot. Believe me the landscape doesn’t seem real! National Park of Timanfaya

I really enjoyed spending a whole day in Punta de Papagayo! It is a protected natural zone with 5 beaches ( bays) not organized and behind there are mountains of different colors! Volcanic landscape too! There are also 2 restaurants/bars where you can have a fast lunch relaxing and watching the sea view! Punta Papagayo

and what to say about the El Lago Verde, El Lago Verde and all the sorroundings? All places close to the ocean , visit Los Hervederos, with its high waves splashing on the rocks; it is a unique nature show!

If you have time please dedicate it to the beautiful island of la Graciosa! it is so natural, no asphalted roads, only bike or your own feet feet to use! The main port of the island is the heart of the place with a few bars and restaurants and some room accomodation. there are a lot of natural intineraries to do to explore the island. we walked a lot and reached the beautiful beach of la Cocina , La Cocina .

Unfortunately we stayed only for one day, I would have stayed for 2 or 3 to enjoy the silence and the nature. I attached some other photos to let you see the natural beauty

In my post I tried to share with you what I appreciated mostly during my holidays in Lanzarote. For sure there are much more places to visit and things to do ! if you want you can take a look for further tips at my list What to do in Lanzarote !!

The most I liked is the cactus garden. I have clicked the link you given, and it showed me a collection of amazing pictures. I love the way this garden is designed.

Can you please tell me about the wind mill type of think in one of your pictures?

Have you seen our post by @MoniDi - Lanzarote, the hidden gem of the Canary Islands? Maybe you’ll find some new spots there. What was your favorite thing about Lanzarote and why would you recommend it to others?

Thanks!

Hello @Ersi_Seferiadi

Wonderful story.

I didn’t have the idea that they are camels in Spain.

What kind of camera did you use?

WOW! That’s so amazing. This is really what it takes to be a great local guide. It’s all about being persistent, and consistently putting in more efforts and reaching the last mile so that people could get a glimpse of places they’ve never thought existed or would have existed before. But as the local guide’s community has got intellectuals like you, soon people will start to experience the other side of the world without getting to step their foot and could also help travellers or tourists have positive views about their dream destinations without facing difficulties.
