I am facing this issue where I open a link from notification email and the page opens correctly followed by automatically scrolling down to the message. So far it’s Perfect.
The problem is when the message is on page 2 or farther, there is no way or a link to navigate back to the main article directly. As a workaround, I click on the link that says page 1 of the messages which has the original article.
Any help or re-direction to an existing topic is appreciated.
Hi @TusharSuradkar as far as I know hitting 1 is the only way to get back to the primary post a reply was for. There are various threading and display options in your settings but none of them change the navigation all that much. Feel free to experiment with them and see if any of the options come close to what you expect. You can find the settings here https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/user-preferences:linear-format
I can see there is a navigation bar at the top that takes directly to the main page and the topics page but not the article page even when it is mentioned.
Maybe I need to raise an enhancement request in some other section.
I’m not quite sure what you mean @TusharSuradkar I’ve just tried coming in from a notification (from your comment on this post) on both desktop and phone and I can scroll up to the original post easily.
Did you look at the threading sessions I linked to you?
This problem is faced only when the message is NOT on the fist page but on a page post the first one o the main page.
You are not able to replicate the issue with this topic since all the comments so far are still on the first or main page where scrolling up takes you to the article.
This is not however the case when the email notification opens a page 2 or page 3 when there are several comments. On such a page, there is no direct link that will take to the articles, except clicking the link to “page 1” or that reads simply as “1” which is not intuitive.
There is a definite link at the top of each page but it lacks a hyperlink:
In the image above, the text “Re: Landing from an email notification” is NOT a hyperlink.
