I travel a lot across Pakistan from mountains to deserts to greens to the coasts. I meet people with different culture, origin and ethnic backs grounds. During my stay I always have preferred to eat local food but there is only one food I find across Pakistan which my friends and i called “Food of Heaven” is Namkeen Lamb Tikka & Karhai in Peshawar city of Pakistan.
For a long time this heaven food is limited to city of flowers Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan however now a days you will find lamb Tikka and Karhai in all major cities of Pakistan. However there is still no match of Nisar Charsi Tikka in Namak Mandi Peshawar and Khyber Charsi Tikka situated in front of Islamia College Peshawar.
By the time you finished Namkeen Tikkah the main dish Lamb Karahi served in front you which is made up of Lamb Meat pieces, Fresh tomatoes cooked in Lamb fat and salt.
The simple dish turn you craving in to deep breath when you smell the smoke grilled over charcoal. The lamb tikkah has emerged across county as a symbolic food of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beside chapli kabab. It is highly recommended to eat Namkeen Tikka whenever you get the chance to visit Peshawar but don’t forget to drink Peshawari Kawa after that.
