Lalahi Chhath

Puja done by my mother and other ladies

The Reason Or Story - According to the Hindu calendar Lord Shri Krishna’s elder brother Balram was born on the sixth day of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. That is why Indian women perform Puja for the prosperity and health of their children.

On this day women observe special fasts and rituals.

Women pray to God for the health, happiness and prosperity of their family and children.

Roasted gram, roasted paddy, roasted rice, puri and sugar cups are offered and distributed as prasad.

Tomorrow is the birthday of Lord Krishna which is celebrated as Janmashtami.

This festival is celebrated with great pomp in every corner of India, tableaus are decorated in our homes too I will share glimpses of it later.
