I am always passionate about heritage and ancient monuments. Khajuraho is such a lovely ancient temple town and famous World Heritage Site which I had visited multiple times.
Lakshmi temple is situated in the Western Group of Temples. Located in front of the Lakshmana temple. It’s facing to the main Sanctorum of the Lakshmana temple mean to Vaikuntha Vishnu as she is the wife or chief onsort of Lord Vishnu.
It’s dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi who is the path paver for mankind and assist to attain the basic eight goals of life. Which are spiritual intellectuality, sustention, learning, expansion of life through children, means, richness, patience and success and she is known as Asht Lakshmi and for every goal she is known as Aadi Lakshmi, Dhana Lakshmi, Dhanya Lakshmi etc.
This is a small temple built on a raised platform having small entrance porch small dome on roof is supported by two stone pillars and main Sanctorum which is crowned by a tall Shikhara. Front wall and entrance door frame are decorated but side and rear walls are not having any carvings.
It’s a major attraction it takes hardly 15 minutes to view completely. It’s a small temple but a significant attraction among the art and architecture lovers.
