Laknavaram Lake in Telangana, nestled amid dense forests and scenic hills, stands as a serene retreat reflecting both natural and historic grandeur. Created in the 13th century by Kakatiya ruler Ganapathi Deva, the lake demonstrates the dynasty’s mastery in hydraulic engineering and deep commitment to community welfare.
The destination charms visitors with its tranquil ambiance and excellent picnic facilities. Specially crafted wooden huts and modern cottages, managed by Telangana Tourism, offer comfortable stays right at the water’s edge. The Haritha resort provides well-furnished rooms and warm hospitality, enhancing the leisure experience with rooms located on islands accessed via iconic cable-stayed bridges.
These bridges present sweeping lake panoramas, while sunset-watching has become a beloved ritual. Guests can explore up to 23 islands by boat, with boating charges ranging from ₹50 per adult for standard boats to ₹300 for a speedboat ride with a group of four.
Entry to the lake is affordable at ₹10 per adult and ₹5 per child, and activities are available from 8 am to 5:30 pm daily. Outside food and beverages are restricted, supporting local service and cleanliness initiatives.
Ideal for nature lovers, families, and history enthusiasts, Laknavaram Lake provides not just recreation but a unique glimpse into the enduring legacy of the Kakatiya era.
