The state of Telangana is famous for its historical monuments which are a witness to the golden history. Nature has also provided beauty to Telangana on its behalf. On the return from the Ram Appa temple, I enjoyed the beauty and atmosphere of this major tourist attraction that is Laknavaram lake.
Laknavaram Lake is a most popular lake among the tourists and locals. An ideal picnic spot amidst the rich romantic environment. It’s a symbol of the wisdom and generosity of Kakatiya rulers. It was discovered and water way was built by them in the 13th century to collect the rain water, it is almost a natural lake. It’s situated about 75 kms away from Warangal, and can be reached via Mulugu, drive few kms on NH 202 through dense forest, fascinating views are just awaiting to thrive the spectators.
This lake is surrounded by natural beauty, forest, mountains etc. The beautiful atmosphere is very suitable for tourism and leisure. Special furnished wooden huts and cottages are added by Haritha resort for tourists comfort and cozy stay amidst the nature, which is managed by Telangana tourism are fully capable of taking care of the tourists as they are renowned for their hospitality.
Resort cottages and Restaurant are located on Islands close to the bank and connected by wonderful cable stayed bridges. These bridges offers the panoramic views of surroundings and lake. Sunset watching remain a major event. About 23 islands are there in the Lake. Boating facilities like cruise, power boats etc are also available for the tourists at nominal charges. Entry fee to the lake is quite affordable. Morning 8 am to evening 6 pm it remain open. Out side food and beverages are not allowed. Though it has many camping sites and treks are also there. Best season is after rain that’s November to February. Unfortunately I was not lucky enough as that year whole region was facing the water scarcity due to very low rain.
It’s a major attraction among the history buffs wanderers soulseekers heritage culture and nature lovers and relaxers.
