I love the outdoors and I live in a year-round playground. In 2005 I became registered as a Yoga teacher and in 2008 I moved to Lake Tahoe. It made sense to connect my love of the outdoors with my lifestyle. Since then, I have been guiding Yoga practices on the beach. In 2010 I began doing the same on paddle boards.
If you enjoy the practice of Yoga, or just want to try it out there is no better place. The Tahoe sands are forgiving enough to encourage attempts at headstands and backward bends. The glassy water provides a peaceful and calm practice space for poses on the water.
My favorite way of sharing my love of Tahoe is with small groups. I love giving special attention to people who are in Tahoe to enjoy the beauty and magic of the area. Beyond guiding Yoga practices I like to take people out for tours on the paddle boards or hikes up on the mountains. I know enough about the area to shed some light upon the general geography and history as well as common terminology.
Next time you are looking to travel and experience some natural magic put Tahoe on your list. I hope you’ll reach out, too, so we can share an adventure together.

Hi @LTYJenay The pictures are great.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful experiences.
Though I believe performing yoga poses on an elevated chopped tree trunk could be potentially risky.
Also, yoga on slippery beach sand may not impart all the benefits of the pose. A flat surface is recommended.
Finally, pardon me for saying this, but watching people practicing yoga on paddle boats is nothing short of gymnastics or circus.
I’d sincerely appeal that, if your time and resources permit, to visit India which is the land of origins of the Yoga and where Yoga is performed in its original format for more than 3000 years. From what I know and have learned about yoga is that it is a combination of body, mind, and spirit where controlled breathing is the key to achieve the maximum benefits. I doubt this is feasible on the paddle, where balancing the body will take away all the attention.

Hi there,
Postures are just one limb of the eight of the practice of Yoga. Poses are visible and can be seen, thus they draw attention and attract people to the practice. The rest requires self study, intention setting, mindful focus, and devotion. These aspects are not visible. Therefore, I use images that entice and excite people to consider joining the practice.
To find steadiness in body and mind on a tree trunk, sand, a paddle board, is a challenge. We develop these skills first on our mats and strive to practice them everywhere. We seek a steadiness and ease in everything we do, everywhere we go. I have been trained by experienced guides who have walked the path of Yoga in India and beyond. I rely on them as my continuous teachers and leaders as I travel upon my own path.
