Laddus An Offering to The Gods
In India we have different types of Laddus. It is a sweet prepared for festivals. Laddus are made in different sizes. What fascinated me was this Laddu I saw at this shop Krishna Sweets in Panchpakhadi, Thane (W) Maharashtra, India, which had been prepared for someone who had specially placed an order for it. The Shop Owners gave me permission to photograph it. And it is the largest Laddu I had ever physically seen…
The shop staff were packing & decorating it. They used a large cellophane paper to wrap the Laddu and then used a drier to seal the cellophane around. This was then decorated with Ribbons. And a sticker with the shops name ‘Krishna Sweets’ was stuck on.
I had photographed this Laddu on September 02, 2019 which is the day on which “Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in Maharashtra”. We “celebrate the arrival of Ganesha to Earth, our Elephant headed God who is also known as Vighnahartha or Remover of All Obstacles”.
