During the trip to France we also passed through Bordeaux. We spent two nights here as the purpose was to reach the Ocean. The next morning we leave for Lacanau Ocean, about fifty km from Bordeaux.
Parked the car in a grove, we heard the sound of the Ocean but, we did not see it. In front of us a hill but, it was not of land but of sand. It was a dune, characteristic of this part of the coast and, where we were, it was the lowest point to access the sea.

Seeing the ocean, coming down from a dune, returns immensity to your heart. The view extends far away. High waves die off on the wide beach. Lacanau is one of the places where surfing is the most popular. Children and adults, in their thermal suits, go out to sea with large strokes on their boards, and then wait for the good wave to ride.
Photo 2: Surfing on the Ocean
Only someone was really smart, but everyone felt like they were the protagonists of a big Wednesday. Everything in the ocean is commensurate with its vastness. The dunes, huge even further, the beach at low tide, the shells. With the aim of finding interesting ones and taking pictures of the sea and the dunes, I move away to an area where more and more, I become lonely. I walk and photographer.
Photo 3: The huge beach of Lacanau
At one point, in the distance, I see two gentlemen who somehow come from the dunes towards me. They carry a strange pouch on the front. At first I thought I had crossed the boundaries of some park where you had to pay to enter, but then I realized that they did not carry a purse on the front !!! I had entered an area notoriously frequented by naturists, and it’s not a good thing to have a telephoto camera around your neck. Therefore, nonchalantly, I turn around and begin to retrace my steps avoiding diplomatic incidents or who knows what other kind.

I look carefully at all those shells. They look the same type as those found in our seas but their dimensions are considerably larger, creating a semblance of exoticism.

We return to Bordeaux to enjoy its nocturnal image.
