The “Flor de la Pasión ó Passiflora” is the most wonderful thing that I met yesterday in the Botanical Garden. Known as “Crown of Christ” because every part of this is associated with a phase in Christ life (the crown of thorns, the chalice and the spear that hit him).
When the conquerors came to América and for the first time see this plant represent for them a good omen. This plant has a lot of benefits, your delicious fruit “The maracuyá or passion fruit”, and many uses as a medicinal plant. Depending of the specie can be used for inflammation, constipation, reduce anxiety and is good for diabetic people because is low glycemic index.

El vecino de enfrente de la casa de mis padres tiene una pasionaria, la que conozco es como una especie de enredadera, desconozco si es la misma que vieron ustedes, la flor es la misma. A mi abuela le gusta mucho, justamente por el significado religioso que se le atribuye. Gracias por compartirnos esta grandiosa fotografía.
Esta flor es muy bonita y muy común en el norte Argentino @SilvyC , siempre que salía al monte o al campo en las proximidades de los arrullos o ríos esta flor se aparecía, es como una enrredadera, gracias por compartir, me gusto mucho, me recordaste mi infancia jajaja.
