One of the places that I enjoyed living and spending time in was Kyoung-Ju, South Korea. Kyoung-ju was the old capital of Korea. Kyoung-you had one of the longest dynasties in the world: 1000 yrs. Rome had something like 1000+ years.
The people of Kyoung-ju lived a peaceful life for the most part. They spent much time cultivating their interests. Their interests ranged from poetry, pottery, archery, textile development, agricultural development, and Buddhism.
Buddhism was the primary religion at the time. The people of the state had great respect for the royal families. In Kyoung-ju, you can see massive grave mounds throughout the city and surrounding areas. Many of these mounds were destroyed during the Japanese occupation. When Kyoung-ju was in its glory days, they had good relationships with China and Japan.
Trade was well developed with Korea’s neighbors. The Koreans traded many ideas with China. There was the language, the cultural ideals, and political system. With the Japanese, they traded a lot of ideas regarding pottery, fish, and culinary arts.
However, the photo here shows the unique trees that Japan had given Korea. These trees were sent to discourage using trees as a means of construction.
