Kyoto-Ujigami Shirine

To travel in a foreign country, all the things we do is our first experience. I was very happy that I could live in the foreign countries and made many new experiences.

Traveling in Uji is also my “first time”. Uji is famous with “Macha” . Although I have been tasted macha

in Kyoto city I still want to taste the original one in Uji. And the oldest Japanese shrine is also there. I went to Uji in February, it was cold and not so many tourists there. The town looks peaceful and cozy. I could feel that is the atmosphere of average day here. Ujigami Shrine is the oldest shrine in Japan. actually it looks very normal, like average shrines in Japan. But the history of Ujigami Shrine is not normal, it represent the Japan religious and the faith center. It is amazing that I could stand here, the shrine with thousand years history. The time seems stay no change here. A very beautiful place with its story.

After visiting shrine, we headed to an macha house with mocha dessert and watched the sunset. It was a very wonderful day.

Hi @amekopb and thank you for sharing your post.

Why won’t add more information about the history of the shrine and share your experience while visiting? This way your post can be appreciated more by other Local Guides. Posts with more content and good photos have a good chance of being featured or chosen for a Friday Favorite post. By the way, you can check the favorite posts from the previous week.

Hi @VasT very appreciate for your suggestion. I’ll try next posting with more information and practice my English writings. :))) It is a quite challenge to me.

You’re welcome @amekopb ,

Don’t worry about the language barrier, I can always translate it =). Also, there are many Community members who speak Japanese.
