Mountain bike and rail trails seem to be opening everywhere in Australia. Some are large scale tourist attractions, many are small local volunteer trails located off the beaten track. Kyogle Mountain Bike Trials in New South Wales falls into the latter category. As usual we camped in town (Kyogle Showgrounds) with our bikes, tent and Holden panelvan.
Kyogle Showground camp overlooking Fawcetts Creek
The trail is located off the Summerland Way just south of town, the track up to the trail head is a little rough and steep. With care you could take a vehicle up here.

The colorful entry to the trails off Yongurra/ Merrigans Road.
Colourful welcome
The trails are signed, and technically graded. TrailForks Australia is a great resource for maps and reviews. The Kyogle trails are generally green or blue, so maximum forest fun for anyone.
Trails are signed, can be navigated without maps
Reward for effort
Plus the views from the top are nice. All downhill (almost) back to Kyogle.
A view is always a good thing.
