Tourism is my hobby, and ancient monuments are my passion. Chittodgarh is a world heritage and also a bastion of precious monuments.

The Kumbha Temple, was built by Maharana Kumbha in 1449 and it’s dedicated to the Lord Vishnu in his Boar incarnation. It’s famous for its marvelous workmanship and sculpture and delicate carving. The temple is built on a high platform. In which light brown sandstone is used in its construction. The interior and exterior walls, ceilings, etc. of this temple are excellent examples of ornamentation with various Sacred motifs which are masterly carved. The door frame of the main Sanctum, the main hall, the balconies on either side of the main sanctum, Garuda the ride of Lord Vishnu in the courtyard facing the main sanctum, sits within an umbrella. Impressive and beautiful sculptures of the twelve incarnations of Vishnu are found in the exterior niches of this temple. Cirumambulatory ritual can be done from inside and outside the temple. Main dome is high and pointed it’s an excellent example of Indo Aryan Architecture.
After addition of Presently Meera Temple it’s known as Kumbhshyam temple jointly. As the main temple was dedicated to Lord Vishnu and the later which was constructed by Maharana Sangram Singh was dedicated to Lord Krishna as Meera was the devotee of Lord Krishna.
It’s a walled complex and both the temples are situated in this complex.
It’s a very popular attraction among the devotees, tourists and its art work and grand history attracts history buffs wanderers soulseekers heritage and art lovers. Best time is to visit during October to January though it remain open and tourists are visiting in every season within their comfort zone as I had visited in the month of January and was quite favourable weather.

The name of the temple is extremely interesting  .

Also the concept behind the name.

The explanation by @rizbab28 is well presented ,it’s always good to know the reason behind the name. Plus some refreshing knowledge about the place. Also, rajasthan is pretty much famous for historical monuments and forts ,awesome ones . Nice to know about another masterpiece.

Hope soon ,I will be able to wander off to different places, countries.
