I traveled to Kazan few years back. Although my itinerary just 3 days but it was unforgettable amazing experience.
Kazan is the capital and largest city in Tatarstan, Russia. My first day arrived in Kazan, my tour guide accompanied me to visit Kazan Kremlin just about 20 minutes walk from my hotel. Architecture in Kazan Kremlin amazed me that consist outstanding group of historic buildings.
Inside the Kremlin, there is Kul-Sharif Mosque is the biggest mosque in Russia. It is beautiful blue and white mosque.
There was this silly experience while inside Kremlin complex. Other tourist from Kazakhstan want to attend afternoon prayer. I said to him wait! I want to pray too. I’m from Indonesia. We pray barefoot inside mosque. At that time, we were in rush because the bus was waiting. I didn’t notice that people here pray with socks on because i was in hurry. In the middle of my pray i couldn’t concentrate because all people using socks and only me barefoot. I was embarrassed but thankfully others just concentrated in their praying.
After pray, i had this little talk with my new friend from Kazakhstan to gain more knowledge about why people pray with socks on.
