Kpatawe waterfalls in Liberia

A shot of Kpatawe water falls, and of some other little flow around the waterfalls

Wow !!! This is another wow experience for me last weekend. I love nature,I enjoy being outdoors and enjoy the atmosphere. It rejuvenates my being. It inspires me and relaxes me altogether.

This past weekend I went to Kpatawe waterfalls in Lawe Liberia . It’s not very big or high really but it spreads out on a rocky slope. There are hiking trials around it as well which I also tried out. I really enjoyed my outing.

To start with,I went on a motorbike and it’s a dusty road. There are lots of hills and valleys on the way there. There are some very archaic villages as well. On arrival, the rushing sound of the waterfalls greets me from afar. I heard the sound from maybe half a mile before I finally saw it. That sound is very therapeutic to the mind. It passes through your body and straight into your mind. Oh you’ll love it,it’s a nice feeling. I can still feel the tingling effect of that experience. What more can I share, the coolness of the water !!! Oh la la !!! It’s out of this universe, you just won’t feel like going home anymore. I spent 2 hours in this mesmerising atmosphere and It passed like 5 minutes. I’ll plan to revisit again on a better day DV.

  • The environment is well maintained and clean.
  • There are good restrooms :restroom: and also changing rooms
  • There are live guards around and they are very friendly.
  • There is a male waterfall which you can only reach through the hiking trails
  • There are games and other activities which you can also enjoy when you’re not swimming.
  • No plastic allowed in the waterfalls
  • There is a proper secure parking lots for cars and motorcycles.
  • Gate fee is $5 USD and you get a handband for it.
  • :wheelchair_symbol::cross_mark: Unfortunately there are no accessibility features at all.

    A Video of Kpatawe waterfalls

I shared so many of the videos and photos on Google maps as usual. There are very nice gardens and rice farms in the area of the waterfalls.

I also saw a lovely green rice farm which I love so much. It’s a government owned land. Lots of people working on it.

In the final analysis this is a place worth visiting. If anyone comes to Liberia even you are welcome. I will be your guide

Great post, my dear friend @SholaIB
Kpatawe (how do you pronounce this?) Water Fall looks very interesting.
The photos are really informative and helpful.
However, the videos are of 2 seconds and feel to be very short to feel the scene… but nicely captured…:ok_hand:
Thanks , dear friend…

Hello @KashifMisidia

You know that you are very welcome to visit. You’ll have a golden welcome and warm reception if you decide to visit. Thank you for commenting.

Thank you @TravellerG . Sorry the video is short. I contributed those to Google maps aa well and didn’t want to make it too long. We have a Proverb in my native language that says it’s sweeter when it’s shorter. You’re better getting the people wanting more than tired of the long thing. Your comment is well appreciated.

Thank you @SaylliWalve1
