This church is wonderful, full of art: stained glass, paintings, sculptures, statues, etc.It takes 2 to 3 hours to fully see it because there is a treasure museum… and climb the tower if you are in good shape. It is located in the city center of Cologne in Germany.
Very old structure surviving of the Second World War, the cathedral suffered serious damage, although this structure remained intact.
In the museum there is the reliquary of the Three Kings, it contains the bones of the Three Kings, also known as the Three Wise Men or the Magi.
@DaGui Truly beautiful. The dark exterior makes it look unique. I could only manage a photo stop here when I travelled to Cologne last time. After everything I have read I plan to do a thorough visit next time.
Cologne cathedral is magnificent and artful. When working as a teacher, I had to cover the topic of sights in Germany, in particular this cathedral. Years after that I finally managed to reach it physically and to feel it’s beauty and the immense volume of efforts put into creating and keeping this beauty. That was an unforgettable feeling.
