Orinoquia Region

This Region is located in the eastern part of the country is also known as Llanos Orientales, surrounded by Orinoquia River.

When talking about this region of Colombia, it is inevitably close to its traditions, customs and elements that make the Eastern Plains a unique territory, composed of departments such as Arauca, Casanare, Vichada and El Meta, which throughout the historical development have reflected its richness and biodiversity in passages and other elements such as the characteristic speech of the region.

The llanero dialect has a lot of indigenous influence. In general, it suppresses or weakens the redundant “s” of the plural and has a composition similar to the coastal ones, for example corn = maíh or yes sir = si jeñor.

It has yeism and articulation of the “r” until its neutralization (vorqueta instead of Volqueta , this means dump truck) or its disappearance in the infinitive form of verbs (ventiá, instead of ventiar, means to get some wind) It retains the sound of the old “h”. It is a feature most seen in Venezuela, Arauca and Casanare (joyo, jumo, mojo, jallan, sajuma, ajoga, ajita by hole, smoke, mold, hallan, sahúma, drowns, there).

Some expressions to highlight would be:

  • Guate: Person coming or natural from the interior of the country.
  • Picuriar: Evade or flee.
  • Salidor: Horse good for dairy work.
  • Abaquianar: Play Baquiano (guide).
  • Jipato: Person of bad color. Sick.
  • Jodíos: Someone in a bad situation.

  • Rucios: Horses.
  • Papaviejos: Grandparents. Old people.

Amazon Region

The Colombian Amazon region, defined by the SINCHI Institute, is delimited as follows: starting from the mouth of the Vichada River in the Orinoco, its valley is followed by the southern shore. Then heading southwest, it goes through the births of the Uvá, Iteviare and Siare rivers, until it reaches the mouth of the Jabón pipe on the Guaviare river. Along the Guaviare river, continue until you find the Ariari river. This is followed upstream to the mouth of the Güejar River and continues upstream to the source of the Sanza River that derives from the Barrialosa Gorge and the Peñas River. From this point, in a straight line to the west, until you find the Guayabero River, which is followed until its birth on the Triunfo Hill. From there it continues in a southerly direction, the division of the Amazonian rivers to the border with Ecuador. The polygon is completed following the Amazonian international limits with Ecuador, Peru, Brazil and Venezuela, until its closure at the mouth of the Vichada River over the Orinoco.

This region is one of the most jungle, considered the lung of the world in which Colombia shares a large part of it, its inhabitants are ethnic groups or indigenous guards with their respective laws, so in Colombia it is considered a special legislation based on each of their guards.

Its inhabitants are isolated people with little knowledge of the western, since for them the knowledge of mother earth is broader than for us Westerners.

Its head ends in a hollow extension in the form of a snake’s head, so it is said, that it is a reptile that flies. Hi @sonnyNg

The posts are now correctly “splitted”. Thank you so much for that.

Is there any option to delete the “repeated post-as-answer” in this post; I mean, I guess the merge setted the same post as an answer of it, and it really look ugly hahaha (the first post’s answer).
