Jaisalmer is a magical town and this Fort is a World Heritage and the living fort. Raja Ka Mahal or King’s Palace is a major attraction among the tourits. We entered after paying the nominal entry fee which is absolutely affordable for this ancient Royal Residence.

Raja’s palace is the main attraction of Sonar Fort. This palace was built in 1156 AD. This palace is amazing in terms of architecture and decorative carvings. The yellow stone having unique feature able to change its color to honeygold and golden, just merging with the Thar desert. This special color is the identity of this fort and this city, was used in its construction. Keeping the problems of water, slurry and mortar was not used in the entire construction of this palace.

On the basis of the sample, this palace was prepared by assembling the ready parts by skilled craftsmen under the supervision of skilled supervisors. Today this fort is a world heritage and the main center of tourist attraction. This palace has taken the form of a museum, for which admission can be obtained only by paying an entrance fee. The main gateway of this palace is worth seeing beautiful carved decorated windows with balconies and multi-storey facades and every archived item which is on display in the Museum in Gaj Vilas etc. This palace is situated on the City’s main Square. And on special occasions, celebrations King used to sit on the white Marble Throne which is placed on a raised platform before the Main entrance of the King’s Palace.
It’s a major attraction among the history buffs wanderers soulseekers heritage art and architecture lovers. It needs an hour to complete the tour of this Palace and nearest attractions are the Dusherra Chowk, Gopa Chowk etc are located at a walkable distance.
