An awareness excursion and Geo walk was organized by Lahore Local Guide specifically for its Members on Saturday 1 April, 2017 to Khanpur Dam. Khanpur Dam is located on the Haro River near Potowar Plateau and the village of Khanpur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, about 25 miles that is 40 km from the federal capital of Islamabad, Pakistan. It caters to domestic water supplies in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, and irrigation water to many of the agricultural and industrial areas surrounding the cities. The main purpose of this trip was to clean up the area surrounding the dam and to create awareness among the locals. It was also to generate awareness among the people working and visiting there, about proper disposal of trash. Members made sure to involve the other visitors in the activities. Members discarding of garbage and importance of a cleaner environment and greener Pakistan.
