Keukenhof is one of the world’s largest flower gardens and is situated in Lisse, South Holland. According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares (79 acres). It is at its busiest during the flowering of the tulips in April/May. The gardens were first established in 1949 and have hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. You do have to pay to get inside the gardens (you get a free map) and there are restaurants to suits all tastes.
