KERALA : GOD'S OWN COUNTRY

So here is my first post

Have been a local guide for family and friends and more a local traveller than a tourist☺️

Just a feeling the more you connect when you do as the locals do…

So today i was at munnar with family

not wasting a bit of holi festival holiday back at my home

we decided to head to kerala the most talked about tourist place in India

Firstly the anticipation was that whether we should take a package from make my trip or something as parents were involved

But packages just makes me feel more caged than usual

so we decided to ala cart our trip

with lot of thorough research

We decided on just booking a cab from kochi airport

Cab is with us for like whole of our journey

Day 1 -21/3/19

We headed from kochi airport directly to munnar the tea town of kerala

in between we stopped for lunch at one of the dhabas where we had saddya(kerala style thali where food is served in a banana leaf

it is served with pineapple curry

potato curry with kerala special rice called as chor ,banana chips and paysam(there local dessert)

food was quite heavy and a perfect meal to start your south india feel

Goinh through road lushed with coconut trees and spice plantations south india will always amaze you with tender love of Being in the laps of god(I mean it)

Spices are like must to buy and the plantation walk is must to have while going to munnar

Kerala is enriched with spices of all kinds cardamom, cinnamon, clove etc

On the way too munnar you can stop for valara and cheeyapara waterfalls

one of the amazing natures gift i have experienced

After sometime we reached our hotel at chittrapuram blue haz resort

stayed there for like minutes then rushed our way to kalari kshetra

The show was getting started at 5pm

there were daily and must watch shows of kathakali(traditional kerala dance which portrays story from ramayana and mahabharata in a very dramatic way ) and kalarippayattu(martial arts and sword fight by experienced people of kerala)

show costed us around 200 each for both the shows!!

by 7 pm we were free after that we had our dinner kerala coconut oil made dosa

Though as an Indian dosa is nothing new for us

but we were in coconut state

everything was made of coconut oil!!

That concluded our day1!!

Day 2-22/3/19

we woke up early for sunrise from our balcony beautiful orange dawn of western ghats mountains

by 8:30 we left for our beautiful day out there in pallivasal town of munnar main city

As you approach munnar main

you

will experience lush green tea plantation all over munnar stretch

Our driver Mr.Joby a very polite and friendly man from kottayam took us through all

that tea plantations stretch knowing my love for photography he stooped at some

important landmarks

where i had best pananormic view of mountains tea plantations

From

there he took us too lockhart tea factory

where we bought 400 rs pass for tea factory visit formulated by guide and tea museum

museum was great enriched with all the parts and traces of old

munnar as the factory was 150years old and still functional so must have seen a great level of history

Tea factory visit is must he will

tell

you

about difference about green white and black tea!!

We even had white tea and bought them in nominal price from there!!

As a doctor i must say white tea is good for heart do buy from

there!!

From there we went to mattypatty dam and kundala dam we even did boating at kundala dam which is much peaceful

there

in between we stopped for photopoint

then we moved too echo point

a great landscape where if u shout your voice will

echo its a great experience to had

then we moved to a flower garden beautiful happy flowers were there a must visit

there we had green mango sour taste

Pineapple,cocoa ,passion fruit ,red jambolinum

Great varities of fruits for the first time i had!

From there we went too old munnar for some shopping and lunch

we bought putto maker (rice breakfast)

then we moved to hydel park and aquarium there from

there headed too hotel

a tiring and a beautiful journey all together!!

End of day 2!!
