Kazakh Switzerland

My name is Aigerim and I am from Kazakhstan. I initially used Google Maps for navigation
and discovering new places. I soon started receiving notifications on my phone showing
assessments of the places I had visited. Gradually, I noticed that, not only was I acquiring
more points, but that I had also reached a higher level as a guide. By the time I became a
level 6 local guide, I realised that I had become part of a larger project. I became more
inspired than ever to share more information on Google. Indeed, it became a hobby and a
passion. Now when I share information about my favourite places, I feel like I am doing a
double favour, for those who own, and the many who view these places. Sharing the
information allows me to be helpful to many people and also feel a sense of pride in being a
local guide.
Sometimes we go abroad to look for new and beautiful places, not realizing that beauty also
exists at home. What do we know about Kazakhstan and its capital? We think that the city is
located among the bare steppes. I would like to show another side of my city and its
surroundings. As a nature lover who likes to capture the beauty of places, I love taking
pictures of nature, One such site near my city is Borovoe…Located in the Northern part of
Kazakhstan, about 270 km away from the capital city Nur-Sultan, Borovoe is often called the
Swiss Kazakh, a pearl and an oasis in the middle of the steppes.
Nowadays, Borovoe is a resort area and one of the most popular destinations for Kazakhs
and visitors to Kazakhstan. The level of tourists and visitors to the area increases with each
passing year. People flock to swim in the many lakes, and just to be close to nature.

An Introduction to the history and culture of the Kazakh people can start with the Glade Abylaikhan plains at the foot of the Mount Kokshem, also the site of the throne of a famous governor.

The real decoration and the hallmark of the Lake Borovoe is the Okzhetpes mountain range .

According to a famous legend, several young men fought for the heart of a local young girl, but she climbed on the mountain and declared that she will only marry the man whose arrow will reach near her. Since no one arrow hit its target, the rock and the girl were thrown into the lake; the girl also having turned into a stone - Zhumbaktas.
