Shizuoka, the land of green tea, is one of the top spots to enjoy flowing rivers and sakura scenes this spring.

Hello @user_not_found ,

Thank you for sharing this amazing photo with us, the area seems very beautiful! Do these plants have any cultural symbolism?

Do you often go there? Are there any activities that could be done in this area, apart of contemplating the beauty of the nature?

@user_not_found I’m never been to japan, but sakura very identical with japan

so what “right time” you mean?

@BorrisS First, thank you for your nice comments. The cultural symbolism behind the cherry blossom has always been associated with renewal, fragility, beauty, and death - the fleeting moment of life’s beauty. If you read some of the literature written in mid-Showa era, by the likes of Mishima Yukio, you’ll find fragments of youth, beauty, pain, and death in his writing… I think the symbolism of the cherry blossom lives in many aspects of Japanese life and culture.

To answer your question about Kawazu. Kawazu is not a touristy spot, so don’t expect to see old cultural artifacts, temples, and, shrines. Kawazu is the sort of place where you can get lost in beauty with a camera, a car, and companion. Most people who visit this area are usually on their way to somewhere else and don’t stay. Most continue on to places like Atami or the Izu Peninsula. I hope I answered your question.
