If you are in Kathmandu and planning to visit Pokhara, then it’s not a big deal anymore. You can either go by “Tourist Bus” or micro bus. You can go as early as 5 in the morning. Tourist buses are much bigger in size and have got comfortable seats. Comparatively the micro buses are smaller and of course the seats are smaller too. However, micro bus takes you to Pokhara in shorter duration. Tourist bus may take 8 to 9 hours whereas, micro bus takes 6 to 7 hours. And the prices of the two have a difference of about Rs.100 or 150. So if you are looking for a comfortable and relaxed trip, go for the bigger one. However, if you prefer reaching your destination quicker, choose micro bus since it’s cheaper (about Rs.525) and faster too.
