Karapan Sapi

Karapan Sapi or Bull race is an annual event held on Madura Island, East Java every year in October for the presidential trophy. Before arriving at the peak event in October, four Regency at Madura Island, namely, Bangkalan, Sampang, Pamekasan and Sumenep held a Regency level Bull Race. Usually this event from March to September. The aim is to get winners in each Regency and then compete in the final to compete for the presidential trophy. The final event in October is usually held at the Soenarto Hadiwidjojo Stadium, Pamekasan, East Java.

Karapan sapi is a speed race between two cows driven by a jockey.

They compete to be the fastest at the finish line.

I’ve only read about this tradition and would actually like to see how it is on real, I’m sure it will be a lot fun!
