Karagol Nature Park, Izmir

VALUE EVERYTHING
In many articles, the majority of those who talk about disappointment in Karagöl. Because the hope of finding the beauties in your mind is in vain. Such think is deprived of the pleasure of discovering a new place for me. Epitope is a hole surrounded by forests and a lake full of water. However, if there is such a lake next to us full of legends about its history, we have to go.

TANTALOS TORTURE
Here is the legend. B.C. According to mythology, Tantalos, who is claimed to have lived in 600 years, is the child of Zeus and a human bishop Pluton. King Tantalos from Izmir lived with the people of Phrygia on the Spil mountain in Manisa. Tantalos, who could sit on the table of the gods, was rushed by the gods of Olympus. The punishment given to Tantalosa, who belittled Hellen gods because he believed in the Anatolian goddess Kibele and tried to test their might, was called “Tantalos torture” in every corner of the world. Zeus sentenced him to eternal hunger and thirst in the underground country. According to mythology, Tantalos was punished by throwing it somewhere on Spil mountain. This crevasse later became a lake and was called “Tantalos lake”. This is Karagöl.

ENRICH ALBUM
40 kilometers from the center of Izmir, Karagöl behind the Yamanlar mountain is 27 kilometers from Karşıyaka city center. When you enter the forested area where you can feel the coolness as you rise above sea level, turn around and take a look. If the weather is clear, you can add a unique Izmir view photo to your photo album. Already on hot summer days, you advance by absorbing the coolness of Yamanlar mountain, which is 810 meters high. When you say ups and downs, right and left, you curl up on the snakes road and reach the lake.

KEEP FISH, SLEEP IN THE SHADOW, READ BOOK
Do not be surprised to see the visitors around Karagöl. Know that they are regulars. You can see what can be done by looking at them. I preferred walking in the shade of the trees around the lake. Then I took a picture, took a picture, ate our sandwiches in the picnic area and read book with ducks.

ENOUGH TO EVERYONE
Karagöl is a 35 hectare crater lake. The green belt around the lake, which is covered with ducks floating in it, and willow trees that bend its leaves into the water, is also good; There is some problem in it. Bags, domestic waste, water pollution are not overlooked.

Hi @hndnrem ,

Thank you for sharing with beutiful place. It’s really amazing! Have you visited Ankara? I want to recommend you to visit Eymir Gölü. It is located about 20 km from the city center and it is surrounded by restaurants and cafes which mostly offer fish and seafood. I mostly enjoy the sunsets in the summer evenings. There is a one photo from there:
