Kanu Street Photo walk [RECAP]

This is my second meetup as a host and I was excited to host it. We decided to explore one of the streets in Nakuru called Kanu street which is known for being the longest street in east and central Africa. Its known to have more than 200 bars and lodges. The aim was to put them on the map, update information and add photos.

The walk was attended by 5 local guides, we met at Nyayo gardens, got some yoghurt for the long walk ahead as we introduced the role of a local guide and the basics of a photo walk. We had two new local guides join us for the walk which was awesome. The walk started at one end of Kanu street and ended back at the same point, we had the energy to walk up and down it. We had a good time interacting with the shop owners about what we were doing and enjoyed the photo walk.

The walk ended with us walking back into town and getting a bite to eat as we caught up and learnt more about our new local guides. Thanks for bringing new people. Looking forward to the next one. Here’s the link to the google photos shared album Kanu Street Photo Walk Feb 16 and a recap video of the walk.

wThanks @WaynePeter , yes, we would like that very much. Will keep you updated on the next one

@Meidimi @WaynePeter I was amazed that we actually had the energy to stomach the Street to and fro during the walk. As I recall it we had a good experience taking photos and also explaining to the curious business owners about the maps and our role as the local guides

Hi @Meidimi ,

Thanks for the recap!

It seems that you had a great time, and managed to edit lots of places on Google Maps. I really enjoyed watching the video. I’m looking forward to your next meet-up.
