I changed the text and subject of the post.
I think this is better.
This large clay container is called “kandook”. In the past, this vessel-like container was used to store grains such as wheat and millet.
Generally, kandook has been used to store food in desert cities, in the eastern and southeastern regions of Iran.
Today, small amounts of grain are stored in kitchen shelves and refrigerators, and these giant containers, whose height reaches 3 meters, are kept only in museums.
Hi @gonabadgardi I applaud your designs, however, you should remove the maps pin as its against the rules to use the Local Guides assets in your own designs - you can find out more here https://support.google.com/local-guides/answer/7562182. Search this community and you will find plenty of examples of community generated assets.
I see your alternative clothing badges, and I’m afraid that creating and using these is not in line with the guidelines.
Google is very concerned about others using official logos and Google’s name without written permission.
Also, any attempts to appear to represent Google is a no-go for Local Guides. We represent ourselves as volunteers and in no way Google when being a Local Guide.
I believe this is because representing Google can easily be used to ask for special service or free samples or gifts.
Please elaborate on why you would like to have such logos?
There has been an ongoing flow of suggestions to issue ID cards to Local Guides. All to no avail.
I need an ID card or a cover like a t-shirt that shows that I am a local guide, so that people and managers of businesses and stores trust me.
For example, when I suggest to business managers that I register the location of their company or store, they ask me to introduce myself, and I also show my profile page on Google Maps. Most of these people do not trust me because they feel that I am an undercover tax inspector or a thief who is going to spy on their store.
I have had problems many times when photographing public open spaces like parks. During the photo shoot, the park guard asks me to introduce myself and explain the reason for taking the photo.
Or some people ask, who are you? What organization do you work for?
Why do you take photos, what do you want the photos for?
I also explain to them, but some don’t accept it and ask me to delete my pictures and move away from that place.
I need a symbol, writing or clothing to make them trust me.
What is your suggestion?
Do you have a solution for that?
You use an Official App from Google and your profile is in there.
This is what I do when someone is asking about what I am doing: I show my profile in Google Maps, and my most viewed photos, and I say “do you see, this photo has a million views, and has been take by me in that business”. Your profile is the better ID you can have, and it is real, not fake badge that everyone can replicate.
Then, If a business says no, remember that no means no. We don’t help businesses against their will
I have designed round medals as an experiment. I have not used them yet.
If you think using it will cause problems, I won’t use them.
OK.
You are an experienced person.
Tell me, when people ask me to introduce myself, how do I prove to them that I’m a local guide who likes to help complete Google Maps so that they trust me?
In fact rewriting a post is not a great idea, because all the answer you received by @PaulPavlinovich , @MortenCopenhagen and myself, answer that may help others with the same feeling, are now appearing totally senseless.
Editing your post is a bad idea @gonabadgardi not just because it makes the answers seem unrelated, but also it can all be seen behind the scenes so you’re fooling no one by doing it.
The advice I can give you when dealing with people at businesses and public places is simply be open and honest with them. If they don’t want you to take photos then don’t do it. Customs are different around the world and something such as photographing a park which is perfectly normal in some parts of the world is frowned upon in others.
If you try to hide what you’re doing then you just end up looking dishonest and shifty hence the questions you receive.
