This tower was located in the Katana area of the Gampaha district of Sri Lanka. Its name is Kandawala Historical Tower Sri Lanka. The historic Kandan Tower is a 150 Feet (46 m) tower built by the Dutch in 1796 for communication and observation purposes during the colonial period. After climbing this tower, other Colombo towers built by them could be seen.
It has been used for communication in the past. But this tower was later used by the Survey Department. It collapsed on November 27, 2015 and its remains can be seen today.
